Role Description

This full-time, on-site role based in Karachi involves providing individualized counseling to high school and prospective college students on academic planning, university selection, and application strategy. The Senior College Counselor / College Counselor will guide students through the entire college application process, including timelines, essay development, recommendations, standardized testing plans, and interview preparation. The role includes advising on scholarship opportunities and student financial aid options, and helping families understand application costs and funding pathways. The counselor will conduct workshops, information sessions, and presentations for students and parents about higher education options in global institutions. Day-to-day responsibilities also include maintaining accurate student records, collaborating with school staff and university representatives, staying current with international admissions trends, and contributing to the development of counseling resources and best practices at Success Factor.

Qualifications

  • Strong college counseling skills, including experience advising students on educational pathways and higher education options.
  • Hands-on experience with college applications, including application platforms, documentation requirements, essays, and recommendation processes.
  • Background in student counseling, with a focus on supporting high school students through academic, personal, and career decision-making.
  • Knowledge of student financial aid, scholarships, and funding opportunities for local and international universities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; a master’s degree or counseling certification is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and institutional partners.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple students, timelines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with international higher education systems and admission practices, particularly for highly ranked global institutions.
  • Ability to work on-site in Karachi and collaborate within a diverse, student-centered team environment.
