Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Level 2 Network Systems Engineer to support, manage, and improve IT environments for our managed services clients. This role is responsible for advanced technical support, network and systems administration, proactive issue resolution, infrastructure improvements, and delivering an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate is technically strong, service-oriented, process-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced MSP environment where communication, client trust, and reliability are just as important as technical expertise.

What Success Looks Like in Your First 90 Days

  • Become familiar with SecureWon's clients, processes, and technology stack
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for Level 1 technicians
  • Independently resolve network, server, and cloud-related issues
  • Participate in client onsite visits and infrastructure assessments
  • Contribute to documentation, standardization, and process improvements
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and teammates

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Support \& Service Delivery

  • Serve as a primary technical escalation point for Level 1 technicians
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for network, server, cloud, and systems issues
  • Deliver professional, clear, and client-focused communication
  • Maintain strong client relationships through reliable service and technical confidence
  • Translate technical issues into business-impact language
  • Participate in onsite and remote client support
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation

Network \& Infrastructure

  • Manage and support LAN/WAN, firewall, VPN, and wireless environments
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, and access points
  • Monitor network performance, uptime, and security
  • Support cloud and hybrid environments
  • Implement security best practices and hardening standards
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades, deployments, and optimization initiatives

Systems Administration

  • Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Support virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
  • Perform patching, upgrades, and preventative maintenance
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Support identity and access management initiatives

MSP Operations

  • Follow ticketing, documentation, and escalation procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation within PSA and IT documentation platforms
  • Assist with client onboarding and infrastructure transitions
  • Participate in project implementations and technical deployments
  • Contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall configurations
  • Windows Server administration

  • Network troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Cloud administration and support experience
  • Backup and disaster recovery technologies
  • Security best practices and endpoint management solutions
  • Experience with network monitoring and documentation platforms

Experience \& Education

  • 4–7 years of professional IT experience
  • At least 2 years supporting network infrastructure, servers, and cloud environments
  • MSP experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple client environments is highly desirable
  • Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred but not required
