Job Description

Role - Network L2 Administrator

Years of Experience - 4 to 8 years

Location - Hyderabad

  • Strong Knowledge of Network Routing, Switching \& Security
  • Strong network administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good Understanding and troubleshooting skills of TCP/IP, Switching \&Routing protocols, MPLS, Load balancing
  • Knowledge and experience in STP, VTP, HSRP, VLAN, QoS and other switching technologies
  • Good Knowledge and experience on Cisco Wireless Controllers.
  • Basic exposure to firewalls (Cisco ASA / Palo Alto / Checkpoint).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple geographically dispersed teams
  • Excellent listening skills \& ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English
  • Flexibility to work in shifts for 24x7 support
  • Strong team player with a constructive perspective and commitment to the success of the business
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks with conflicting priorities
  • Product knowledge:
  • Routing Protocols, especially MPLS, BGP, EIGRP
  • Cisco Routers -- 7200, 3800, 3600, 2800, 2900, 881
  • Firewalls -- Cisco ASA5550, Checkpoint, Palo Alto
  • Load Balancers – F5
  • Switches -- Nexus 9K/7K/5K/2K, Cisco 9300/6500/4500/3750/2960, Juniper switches
  • WLAN – Wireless LAN Controllers, WCS, Cisco WLAN Controllers
  • Zscaler (ZIA)
  • SD-WAN
  • Cisco ACI using Spine-Leaf
  • Technical Skills:
  • Good-To-Have:
  • Experience on Network and Security architecture designing
  • ITIL Certification
  • CCNP / CCNA Certification
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle L2 incidents and service requests related to routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues.
  • Troubleshoot network problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, routing protocols (BGP/EIGRP), and LAN/WAN connectivity.
  • Perform basic configuration tasks on Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers under L3 guidance.
  • Monitor health and performance of network devices, links, and circuits using NMS tools.
  • Analyze logs and events to resolve issues with switches, routers, firewalls, and WLAN access points.
  • Support L1 engineers through guided troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
  • Escalate complex or recurring issues to L3 and follow through till closure.
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and update knowledge base articles.
  • Provide support in a 24x7 shift-based environment.
