Network Deployment Technician (Wireless \& Firewall Projects)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Deployment Technician to support large-scale, multi-site network infrastructure projects. This role involves hands-on technical work combined with coordination, logistics, and documentation in support of wireless deployments and firewall refresh initiatives. This is a great opportunity for a networking professional looking to grow into a Network Engineer role.

Key Responsibilities

Wireless Deployment \& Project Support

  • Support large-scale wireless access point (AP) deployments across 75\+ locations
  • Review site survey data to develop site-specific scopes of work (SOWs)
  • Configure and manage network environments within the Meraki dashboard
  • Assist with basic switch configuration and network setup
  • Coordinate hardware logistics including packing, labeling, tracking, and receiving
  • Track deployment progress and maintain accurate documentation of site completion
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to meet timelines
  • Escalate complex technical issues to experienced engineering resources

Firewall Deployment \& Project Support

  • Assist with firewall refresh deployments across 100\+ locations
  • Configure FortiGate firewalls using established processes and scripts
  • Support hardware logistics including shipping coordination and inventory tracking
  • Perform validation and confirmation tasks for firewall installations
  • Troubleshoot network issues, identify root causes, and escalate as needed
  • Maintain accurate deployment records and status tracking
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure adherence to project timelines

Administrative \& Coordination Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed network documentation and deployment records
  • Track and report on weekly progress metrics
  • Manage multiple active workstreams across various deployments
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and technical teams

Required Skills

  • Cisco Meraki (or similar cloud-managed networking platforms)
  • Fortinet / FortiGate firewall configuration
  • Network switching and wireless technologies
  • TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing fundamentals
  • General firewall and network security concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Network\+, Security\+, CCNA, or Fortinet NSE4\+
  • Experience with multi-site infrastructure deployments or rollouts
  • Familiarity with network cabling standards and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to network implementation or field deployment work

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30\.00 - $40\.00/hr.
