AI/ML Engineer

At Dataroots, we deliver end-to-end data and AI solutions, from strategy and platform design to data engineering and AI-enabled systems. That broad scope is reflected in our team: AI/ML engineers, data engineers, cloud architects, and data strategists. Each discipline brings its own expertise, but we share knowledge, perspectives, and a common way of thinking across disciplines.

Within that team, you design, build and deploy AI solutions that deliver tangible business value for our clients across a variety of industries, spanning classical ML, modern GenAI, and Agentic AI use cases. Your work goes beyond getting the models to work; you help bring AI systems into production in a robust and scalable way, applying best practices in MLOps and LLMOps to ensure they are reliable, maintainable, and adaptable over time.

💼 What we’re looking for

You bring the following qualities \& experiences to the role:

• A deep passion for Artificial Intelligence and its applications.
• A minimum of

2 years of experience

developing AI-driven applications or systems.

• Strong foundation in

software design principles

; Proficiency in Python \& SQL is a must.

• A solid understanding of core machine learning techniques and how to apply them pragmatically in production settings.
• Familiarity with

modern generative AI and agentic approaches

, including retrieval-based systems and LLM orchestration patterns.

• Experience deploying AI systems into production, with a solid grasp of

model lifecycle management

and

cloud-native deployment

practices.

• Experience with at least one

major cloud platform

(AWS, Azure, or GCP) and a solid understanding of cloud-based AI and data workflows.

• Front-end experience

is considered a plus.

• Strong

communication skills

and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for clients.

• A

pragmatic, business-oriented mindset

: able to translate business problems into technical scopes and help AI solutions land, with a focus on product thinking and real business value.

• Fluency in

English and Dutch
