Early Childhood (Mandarin) Teacher – Full-Time / Part-Time

Solarfish Mandarin is currently hiring responsible, passionate Mandarin Chinese teachers for both full-time and part-time positions.

Our programs primarily serve children ages 3–10 in an after-school setting. We are looking for teachers who genuinely enjoy working with children, are patient, dependable, and passionate about early childhood and elementary education.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Mandarin Chinese to children ages 3–10, including listening, speaking, reading, and basic writing skills; design engaging, age-appropriate, and interactive lessons; incorporate storybooks, games, arts and crafts, songs, music, and other creative activities into the classroom; help manage students in an after-school setting and maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment; communicate professionally with families and staff; and carry out teaching responsibilities with consistency and care.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or above; strong Mandarin Chinese language skills with clear and standard pronunciation; genuine interest in working with young children; patient, responsible, dependable, and able to manage a classroom effectively; able to work during after-school afternoon hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Chinese Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred; prior experience teaching Mandarin Chinese, working in a preschool, elementary school, Chinese school, or after-school program; several years of experience working with children is highly preferred; Early Childhood Education background is a strong plus; experience with arts and crafts, music, singing, or other creative children’s activities is also preferred.

Candidates with limited teaching experience may still be considered if they are genuinely passionate about education, enjoy working with children, are responsible, and are eager to learn. Training can be provided.

Compensation:

Part-Time:

$18–$45 per hour, depending on education, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications. We are looking for teachers who truly enjoy working with children, care about education, are responsible and reliable, and are interested in growing with our program long term.

Full-Time:

$40,000–$70,000 per year, depending on education, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications.
