Job Description
Who are we?
LMG is the largest and most progressive aggregator group across Australia and New Zealand supporting a community of over 6,000 brokers and advisers. Proudly family-owned and led, LMG supports businesses operating under their own brand, or the Loan Market brand, and partners with over 110 banks and lenders. The business has grown rapidly, with LMG brokers in both countries helping over 340,000 customers settle over $143 billion worth of loans in FY25\.
We’re not a conventional company with a lot of rules and hierarchy, and we don’t intend to become one. We live our values in everything we do: Compassion for our customers, doing what we say, being curious and thinking openly, going further together, and staying hungry but humble. We’re a large company with a start-up attitude. Our success is driven by hiring outstanding people and accepting nothing less than being the best at what we do.
We are proud to be named Australian Financial Review BOSS Best Place to Work - Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services \& in 2025!
About the role -
LMG’s technology team provides technology infrastructure and services to deliver the full range of financial services including mortgages, asset finance, insurances and financial planning across Australia and New Zealand. Our operational focus is to provide efficient and enabling technology, manage information strategically, and expand and improve our service delivery. The engineering team is responsible for the development, implementation and support of technology services for all corporate staff, our franchisees, and independent contractors.
We work with Continuous Improvement and Continuous Deployment. We are agile and fast moving and yet we have the benefits of working in a larger organisation with the resources and stability that allows for innovation and the opportunity to work on large scale, complex systems.
This is a great opportunity to work with like-minded technology enthusiasts in a nimble environment using cloud-based technologies with the freedom to explore your own ideas. We encourage our engineers to be curious, and to influence processes and products.
Duties and Responsibilities -

Primary accountability for the stability, performance, and scalability of the MyCRM cloud ecosystem. Ownership of the long-term roadmap for CI/CD maturity, developer experience, and infrastructure resilience.
- Architectural Leadership:
Designing and implementing cloud-native solutions that balance high availability and security with cost optimisation (FinOps) and performance. Defining the standards for how solutions are built rather than simply executing tasks.

- Mentorship \& Culture:
Championing a high-performance DevOps culture. Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, conducting deep-dive technical sessions, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
- Infrastructure Evolution:
Proactive identification of technical debt within the cloud stack. Leading the migration from legacy patterns to modern, automated, and self-healing architectures.
- Rapid Prototyping \& R\&D:
Driving innovation by validating emerging technologies (e.g., Serverless, Service Mesh, or AI-driven ops) through high-level proof-of-concepts that solve complex business problems.
- Incident Management Leadership:
Serving as a technical escalation point for complex production issues, leading "blameless post-mortems" to ensure systemic improvements follow every outage.
Skills and Experience Required -
Essential:
- Public Cloud:
Extensive experience architecting and managing enterprise-grade public cloud environments (AWS highly preferred).
- Kubernetes:
Extensive experience in Kubernetes

- Terraform IaC \& Automation:
Extensive experience using Terraform, with the ability to build modular, reusable infrastructure-as-code libraries.

- Security:
Applied understanding of the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP), IAM roles, encryption at rest/transit, security groups, and compliance frameworks.
- Communication:
Proficiency in translating technical and infrastructure requirements into business value for stakeholders and non-technical product owners.
- Leadership:
Proven track record of leading initiatives from discovery to delivery with autonomy and curiosity.
Desirable:
- Observability Architecture:
Experience defining and implementing SLOs and SLIs using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog or similar to measure service reliability and manage error budgets.

Experience integrating automated security scanning (SAST/DAST) and "Policy as Code" into deployment pipelines.

Proven experience in
FinOps
, specifically regarding the reduction of cloud spend through right-sizing and architectural shifts.
