Role Description
The Director of Engineering at AMPS Solar is a full-time, on-site role based in Hesperia, CA. This position is responsible for leading and scaling the engineering organization, setting technical direction, and ensuring alignment with business and product goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing engineering projects from concept through deployment, managing engineering resources and budgets, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration with product, operations, and leadership teams. The Director of Engineering will establish and refine engineering processes, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency. This role also involves mentoring engineering team members, supporting their professional development, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Engineering Management and Team Leadership, with experience building and guiding high-performing engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Integration, including designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable technical solutions.
- Strong Project Management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and on-time delivery of complex engineering initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience in the renewable energy, solar, or power systems industry is highly beneficial.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Track record of establishing engineering standards, documentation practices, and process improvements.
- Familiarity with relevant safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements in engineering and energy sectors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
