Public Relations Account Manager
McGraw PR is a full-service public relations and communications firm specializing in design and architecture. We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our growing team.
This role is fully remote, with candidates based in New York City (and available for in-person meetings and events as needed).
We partner with established brands and emerging talent to shape compelling narratives, secure meaningful media coverage, and build long-term visibility. This position is ideal for a strategic, detail-oriented communications professional with a minimum of five years of agency-side experience and a proven ability to manage client relationships, lead campaigns, and mentor junior staff.
Strong writing skills are essential, as is a thorough knowledge of the design media landscape.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day lead on multiple client accounts, managing relationships with professionalism and confidence
- Develop and execute PR strategies, campaigns, and timelines aligned with client goals
- Lead media relations efforts, including pitching, press outreach, follow-ups, and coverage tracking
- Draft and edit press materials, including press releases, media alerts, pitches, talking points, and briefing documents
- Secure top-tier and relevant media placements across print, digital, and broadcast outlets
- Manage account scopes of work and reporting
- Supervise and mentor Account Executives
- Collaborate with leadership on strategy, new business opportunities, and client growth
- Assist in the research and creation of new business proposals
- Stay informed on design industry trends, media landscape shifts, and competitive activity
- Lead the creation of social media content, as needed
- In-person meeting and event support as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional public relations experience
, preferably within an agency environment
- Demonstrated success managing clients independently and delivering measurable results
- Strong media contacts relevant to our focus areas of home, design, interiors and architecture
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple accounts simultaneously
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
