Summary:
The Staff Accountant position is a hybrid-role which requires 4 days in the office at the Boca Raton headquarters. This role supports general ledger accuracy through account reconciliations, journal entries, close activities, discrepancy resolution, and preparation of supporting documentation. This role works collaboratively with accounting and business partners to maintain internal controls, support audits, improve processes, and assist with accounting projects as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconcile low to moderately complex general ledger accounts monthly, including research and resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.
- Effectively communicate with team members and members of different business functions.
- Comply with Internal controls and best practices.
- Support both internal and external audits.
- Assist in other accounting projects as requested.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- 1\.5 to 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Experience with Accounting systems preferred (Oracle, Essbase).
Skills:
- Organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Understands and applies accounting concepts.
- Advanced Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical thinking skills.
- Functional/technical skills; strong fundamentals in accounting and US GAAP.
- Team player; comfortable operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure.
