Role Overview:
A.L.C is seeking a Creative Director, Brand Image to lead the visual identity, art direction, and image-making expression of the brand across every consumer touchpoint. Working closely with the Founder \& Creative Director and the Head of Brand Creative, this role owns how ALC is seen — the brand image system, the art direction of every campaign and brand film, and the visual standard that holds across e-commerce, social, retail, and brand design. The role partners with the Associate Creative Director, Styling on integrated image-making, and leads the in-house art direction and design team.
The ideal candidate will have 10\+ years of relevant experience in art direction, brand creative, or visual identity at a luxury or contemporary fashion brand, editorial title, or creative agency, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. They are a confident art director and image-maker, fluent in photography, film, design, and typography, with the leadership instincts to build and steward a brand image system at scale. Above all — a senior creative partner to a founder-led brand, with a strong editor’s eye, a current visual point of view, and the partnership skills to bring others into the work.
Responsibilities:
Visual identity and brand image system
· Lead the brand’s visual identity and image system, ensuring a cohesive, elevated expression of ALC across every consumer touchpoint.
· Steward brand visual guidelines, design language, and creative standards for use across in-house teams and external partners.
· Evolve the brand image system in dialogue with the Founder \& Creative Director and Head of Brand Creative as the brand grows.
Art direction and image-making
· Lead 360 art direction for ALC campaigns, brand films, lookbooks, editorial, and brand content from concept through final image.
· Partner with the Associate Styling Director and Founder/Creative Director on integrated image-making — where styling, image, and direction come together to express the season.
· Direct photographers, filmmakers, designers, and producers; approve creative output across all major brand expressions.
Photography, film, and content production
· Lead production of major brand image and content shoots, from creative brief through delivery.
· Source and partner with photographers, directors, and creative agencies whose work elevates the brand.
· Oversee post-production, retouching standards, and final asset delivery across image and film.
Cross-channel image and design oversight
· Set and maintain visual standards across e-commerce, social, retail, digital, and partner-facing channels.
· Direct brand graphic design and typography, lookbook layouts, retail collateral, and packaging.
· Partner with Visual and Retail on store image, in-store creative, and experiential touchpoints.
Research and cultural connection
· Bring a current visual point of view into the brand — photographers, filmmakers, designers, and image-makers shaping the moment.
· Translate cultural and image signals into direction that is relevant to ALC’s woman and consistent with the brand’s point of view.
· Build and maintain image and reference systems that fuel the brand across functions.
Cross-functional and team leadership
· Lead and develop the in-house art direction and design team.
· Partner with the ACD Styling, Brand \& Creative team, Marketing, PR, Retail, and E-commerce to ensure visual direction is interpreted consistently.
· Manage brand image and creative budgets across productions and partners.
Qualifications:
· 10\+ years in art direction, brand creative, or visual identity at a luxury or contemporary fashion brand, editorial title, or creative agency, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
· A portfolio demonstrating a clear creative point of view across campaign, editorial, brand identity, and cross-channel image-making.
· Direct experience working alongside a founder or designer-led creative voice strongly preferred.
· Confident art director and image-maker; fluent in photography, film, design, and typography.
· Proven ability to lead and develop a creative team and run productions at varying scale.
· Excellent partnership skills across Design, Styling, Brand, Marketing, PR, Retail, and E-commerce.
· Deep current knowledge of luxury and contemporary fashion, image-making, and culture.
· Available for travel as required for productions and market.
