Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Concrete Foreman located in the Minneapolis, MN area. We are specifically looking for foundation and total station experience. Duties \& responsibilities depend on the position being applied for. The work done by Carpenters involves constructing footings/forms and concrete walls. A carpenter must have the ability to read blueprints/plans and to measure accurately for form placement. Carpenters assist in the pouring process and may also erect scaffolding around the building/other structures as needed. Must be a self-starter

We are also looking for a concrete foreman who would be able to lay-out and help pour and finish concrete daily.

Company Vehicle/Vehicle - allowance and bonus wages are offered contingent on relevant experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Resolving all problems that may affect the project.
  • Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
  • Delegating tasks to concrete crews and providing overall guidance.
  • Total station experience is a MUST.
  • Foundation experience
  • Stripping and setting forms.
  • At times, make custom concrete forms out of wood.
  • Assist in the pouring process.
  • Erect scaffolding as needed.
  • Pull pins from the ground/wall surface to remove forms.
  • Construct guardrails.
  • Shovel dirt.
  • Frequent use of various hand tools.
  • Load and unload construction materials and equipment from trucks as needed.
  • May assist in the demolition process if requested.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Follow the direction of the supervisor/project manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project.
  • Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
  • Layout with a total station.
  • Work hands-on with tools and crews.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Additional carpenter construction duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a credit check. For the use of company credit cards.
  • Union membership in good standing or willingness to join a local union.
  • Perform each responsibility stated above successfully.
  • High school diploma or a General Education Degree is preferred.
  • 5 years of related concrete and construction experience and/or training.
  • Valid driver’s license \& driving record acceptable to the insurance company.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
  • Ability to read, write, and do basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
  • Perform heavy labor and lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a physical exam.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses in construction and heavy equipment operation are a plus.

The hourly pay rate is based on the collective bargaining agreement of the local union contract in the Twin Cities Metro area. Benefits are provided based on the union contract, with total pay packages ranging from $72\.00 - $81\.00 per hour
