Overview

We’re looking for an AI Engineer with an AI-first mindset to drive real-world application of AI within the insurance space. This role is ideal for someone with a strong insurance background (ideally Lloyd’s of London Market) who has moved into applied AI, LLMs, and emerging technologies.

You’ll work in highly collaborative, fast-paced “war room” environments, partnering directly with broking and operations teams to deliver practical, solution-led AI outcomes.

The Role

• Engage directly with broking, underwriting, and operations teams to identify AI opportunities
• Design and build AI-driven solutions using tools such as Claude (Anthropic), Vertex AI, and GCP
• Apply prompt engineering and “vibe coding” principles to rapidly prototype and iterate
• Translate business problems into scalable AI solutions
• Operate in delivery-focused project environments with high visibility
• Champion an AI-first, outcome-driven approach

Requirements

Insurance Experience (Essential)

• Strong background in insurance, ideally within Lloyd’s of London Market
• Solid understanding of broking operations, underwriting, or insurance workflows
• Financial Services candidates considered with strong AI exposure

AI / Engineering Capability

• Experience working in an AI-first or applied AI engineering role
• Hands-on experience with:
• LLMs (Claude, Anthropic ecosystem, or equivalents)
• Google Cloud Platform, especially Vertex AI
• Strong knowledge of:
• Prompt Engineering
• Rapid prototyping (“vibe coding”)
• Ability to build and iterate solutions in real-world environments

• Passionate about AI and its practical application
• Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams
• Proactive, innovative, and delivery-oriented

Ideal Profile

• Insurance professional (BA, broking, underwriting, ops, or technical)
• Has transitioned into AI / engineering
• Embedded in the AI ecosystem, actively using modern tools
• Keen to scale their impact in AI within insurance
