Role

We are looking for a full-stack principal Software Engineer to own, architect and code the Savvy technical platform. This also includes owning the SDLC through CI/CD of our apps through production and the iOS/Android appstores. The ideal candidate for this role has a track record building highly scalable games, deep livestream expertise, and an unwavering drive for quality. This is a backend-leaning full-stack role working 65% backend and 35% Unity front-end.

This role is based in Los Angeles where we produce the livestream from our live/work office \& studio. We are open to remote candidates but preference will go to locals (or those willing to relocate) who can join the team onsite several days a week.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build and launch new features to the Savvy games.
• Design, build and launch reusable frontend components in Unity that are fully featured, and aligned to the game story and designs.
• Design, build and launch livestream technology directly into the games.
• Monitor, profile and optimize scaling bottlenecks.  Diagnose and solve issues quickly.
• Collaborate deeply with the game design team.
• Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team.
• Own and clearly communicate technical architecture with the team.
• Monitor, support and ensure uptime for the Savvy platform.

What You Bring

• A passion for gaming and livestreaming.  Please show us your portfolio!
• 8\+ years of software engineering and Unity or relevant experience
• Expertise in .NET,  and Unity.  Experience with React Native is a big plus.
• Expertise with WebRTC protocols to deliver low latency livestream experiences.  Must have examples scaling to 100k\+ concurrent users.
• Must have Experience with LiveKit or similar streaming provider.
• Experience owning iOS/Android Apps end-to-end, from requirements gathering through QA, Unity build pipelines and public releases in the app stores.
• A Fully agentic development workflow.
• Experience working with Postgres or a similar relational database.
• Experience working with CosmosDB or a similar noSQL database.
• Experience working with product managers and designers to plan, build, and iterate on deliverables.
• Experience working with livestream production teams.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.  Experience mentoring or managing more junior engineers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience at a start up game company
• Experience working with Azure

• $140-180K base salary with generous founder equity package. This will increase at our next fundraising round.
