Job Description
Supply Chain Manager
We are seeking a technology‑driven, hands‑on Supply Chain Manager who thrives at both the strategic and execution levels. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team while also personally managing critical purchasing activities — negotiating with suppliers, enforcing MRP discipline, and ensuring uninterrupted material flow in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will oversee Purchasing, Inventory, and Logistics, while also serving as the primary buyer for key, technical, and long‑lead materials. Our customers span aerospace, electronics, automotive, and the rapidly growing global battery industry.
Key Responsibilities
Hands‑On Purchasing (Core Focus of the Role)
- Execute daily purchasing activities for key components, technical materials, and long‑lead items
- Manage supplier relationships, including RFQs, negotiations, expediting, resourcing, and performance oversight
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and ECOs to ensure accurate procurement
- Maintain purchasing data — pricing, lead times, confirmations — in the MRP/ERP system with high accuracy
- Proactively resolve supply shortages, delivery issues, engineering changes, and material disruptions
Leadership \& Supply Chain Management
- Lead and develop a lean, high‑performing Supply Chain team across Purchasing, Inventory, and Logistics
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and Planning to align material availability with build schedules
- Partner with the Production Planner to optimize MRP integration and execution
- Establish, track, and review KPIs related to purchasing performance, inventory turns, supplier quality, and on‑time delivery
- Analyze inventory health and recommend strategies to reduce working capital and improve cycle times
- Conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations and support ongoing team development
Technology, AI \& Process Improvement
- Leverage AI‑enabled forecasting, analytics, and supplier performance tools to improve planning, risk management, and sourcing decisions
- Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives across procurement workflows
- Use data‑driven insights to enhance supplier scoring, accuracy, and long‑term sourcing strategies
Education \& Experience
- APICS, CPIM, and/or CSCP certification strongly preferred
- 6–8 years of supply chain or purchasing experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Prior experience in manufacturing purchasing is required
- Background in electronics, HVAC, automotive, or other technically complex industries is highly preferred
- Experience using AI, automation tools, analytics platforms, or advanced supply chain technologies is a strong plus
Skills \& Abilities
- Proven expertise in vendor negotiation, relationship management, and supplier performance improvement
- Ability to operate confidently as both a strategic leader and a hands‑on buyer
- Strong proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and purchasing workflows
- Excellent communication, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Strong analytical ability with a process‑driven, continuous improvement mindset
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities shift and urgency matters
What We Offer
- A collaborative environment with a senior leadership team that values innovation and continuous improvement
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Tuition reimbursement
- Casual, dog‑friendly workplace with a fun, supportive company culture
