Automation Engineer – Mechanical Design

Work Location

  • Job responsibilities:
  • Design and develop

mechanical systems, assemblies, and components

for automation machines and SPMs.

  • Prepare

2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and assembly layouts

using CAD software.

  • Develop concepts for

fixtures, conveyors, robotic cells, inspection stations, and assembly automation systems

.

  • Coordinate with

electrical, controls, and software teams

for complete machine integration.

  • Select suitable

motors, actuators, bearings, linear guides, pneumatic components, and structural materials

.

  • Conduct

design calculations, tolerance stack-up, and motion analysis

.

  • Ensure designs comply with

safety, quality, and ergonomic standards

.

  • Support prototype development, machine trials, FAT/SAT, and customer acceptance.
  • Work closely with production and vendors for

fabrication, machining, and assembly feasibility

.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Optimize designs for

cost reduction, reliability, and ease of maintenance

.

  • Maintain engineering documentation as per

ISO / IMS standards

.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree -Mech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in

automation machine design / SPM design / industrial equipment design

Skills and Competencies:

  • Hands-on experience in

SolidWorks / AutoCAD

  • Strong knowledge of

mechanical design principles

  • Good understanding of

pneumatics, hydraulics, servo systems, and robotics integration

  • Knowledge of

GD\&T, tolerances, and material selection

  • Understanding of

manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, and assembly

  • Exposure to

industrial automation systems and machine safety standards

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills
