Role Overview
We are seeking a
SQL DBA / Developer
to support a
federal
research and development mission. This role supports an
already implemented, operational system
and is responsible for maintaining, updating, and evolving the underlying databases in a
highly dynamic, mission-driven environment
.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on database professional who can analyze existing database structures, write and execute SQL scripts, and translate
Tactical Data Link (TDL) Integrated Change Proposals (ICPs)
into database updates and
Data Manipulation Language (DML)
statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current database structures and schemas to develop
SQL scripts
for updates and enhancements
- Translate
Tactical Data Link (TDL) Integrated Change Proposals (ICPs)
into SQL statements for database updates and DML operations
- Perform database updates, modifications, and maintenance in support of mission changes and evolving priorities
- Work with
XML-generated schemas
, including
Garden of Eden
and
Venetian Blind
schema design patterns
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders in a
fast-changing R\&D environment
- Support database troubleshooting, optimization, and data integrity efforts
- Participate in onsite support at
Ft. Meade as mission needs dictate
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience as a
SQL DBA and/or SQL Developer
- Hands-on experience writing
SQL scripts
for database updates and DML
- Experience working with
XML schema-based data models
- Understanding of
Tactical Data Links (TDL)
and/or
Integrated Change Proposals (ICP)
, or the ability to quickly translate operational change requests into database logic
- Experience working with
existing/legacy systems
rather than greenfield development
- Ability to operate in a
fluid, mission-prioritized R\&D environment
- Active
Secret clearance
- Willingness and ability to support
onsite work at Ft. Meade as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with
Garden of Eden
and
Venetian Blind
XML schema design patterns
- Prior
DISA or DoD
experience
- Experience supporting
operational systems already in use
- Background in defense, tactical systems, or mission systems engineering
- Comfort working directly with product owners/stakeholders
