Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Diego Metropolitan Area for an Electrical Engineer. Key responsibilities include:

• Design DED machine electrical systems utilizing AC and DC electronics
• Assemble and test prototypes to ensure functional design and manufacturing goals are achieved
• Create documentation such as electrical schematics, Bills of Material (BOMs), Work Instructions, and other documentation to support downstream manufacturing processes
• Perform I/O and baseline functional electrical testing to support the manufacturing process
• Design PCBs for functional components and manufacturing testbeds
• Use Solidworks to layout components and generate Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Follow revision control, design publication, technical documentation, and part numbering processes
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to address manufacturing issues
• Adhere to UL, CE and other electrical standards and support NRTL certification processes as needed
• Suggest and implement engineering changes per Engineering Change Request (ECR) process
• Participate in design reviews to ensure technical and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) goals are achieved
• Communicate status on projects to Electrical-Integration-Test team lead
• Interface with vendors to receive new component technical information, prices, and availability

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of study
• 5\+ years experience designing electrical systems for machine tools and/or industrial machinery
• 5\+ years experience field wiring and troubleshooting electrical circuits
• 5\+ years experience using SolidWorks Electrical or similar schematics design software
• Experience interfacing with suppliers including electronics vendors and PCB manufacturers
• Experience technical writing of work instructions, manuals, and other technical documentation
• Experience applying electrical and other relevant standards AC and DC electronics
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with teammates, vendors and customers
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook (email)
• Proficient user of Windows PCs
• Previous experience in advanced manufacturing technologies
• Ability to handle ITAR and CUI information and data to support government programs
