Position Overview
The Chief Digital Assets Officer (CDAO) is a senior executive responsible for leading the firm’s digital asset strategy, product development, risk framework, and institutional market expansion.
This role sits at the intersection of banking, capital markets, and crypto derivatives, ensuring innovation is aligned with regulatory compliance, risk governance, and long-term profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Strategic Leadership
Define and execute the firm’s digital asset and crypto-derivatives strategy
Align digital asset initiatives with overall corporate objectives
Advise the Board and Executive Committee on market trends and risk dynamics
2\. Product \& Market Development
Oversee development of crypto derivatives, structured products, and digital custody solutions
Lead tokenized asset initiatives and institutional product innovation
Identify new revenue streams across trading, staking, custody, and structured finance
3\. Risk \& Governance
Establish institutional-grade risk frameworks (market, credit, liquidity, counterparty)
Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements across jurisdictions
Coordinate closely with CRO, CFO, and Compliance teams
4\. Regulatory \& Institutional Relations
Engage with regulators and external partners on digital asset policy
Build relationships with institutional clients, liquidity providers, and custodians
Represent the company in industry forums and strategic partnerships
5\. Infrastructure \& Technology Oversight
Collaborate with CTO and Product teams on exchange architecture, custody systems, and derivatives engines
Ensure robust cybersecurity, operational resilience, and scalable infrastructure
Qualifications
10\+ years in capital markets, investment banking, digital assets, or derivatives
Proven leadership experience in regulated financial institutions
Deep understanding of crypto markets, tokenization, structured products, and clearing models
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (AML, KYC, capital adequacy, derivatives oversight)
Strategic mindset with strong execution capability
Preferred:
Experience launching or scaling a crypto exchange or derivatives platform
Institutional client network in digital assets or prime brokerage
