Teacher: CTE- Building Trades

POSITION TITLE: Building Trades Teacher

FLSA:

Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

OSHA Certification preferred;

Must have industry experience (4000 hrs or 2 full yrs within the last five yrs) including carpentry, masonry,

plumbing, and electricity

DPOR Journeyman or Master Card for Electricity and Plumbing required

REPORTS TO:

Principal and/or other Supervisor

Essential Job Functions

• Provides vocational instruction to students.
• Assesses students' abilities and needs required to complete course of instruction.
• Delivers approved curriculum and provides appropriate instruction.
• Maintains discipline and safety in classroom, shop, and other applicable work areas.
• Supervises the use of all tools and equipment to ensure proper security, use, and storage.
• Maintains records of student attendance and progress
• Maintains teacher competency in the area of vocational trade.
• Performs other educational and related duties as required.

Other Job Functions

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Serve on committees as assigned.
• Remain current on instructional practices in education.
