We are seeking an AI Engineer to join a leading international oil \& gas company at an early stage of its AI transformation. As a pioneer AI hire, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying AI solutions that drive operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and unlock business value across the organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to build AI capabilities from the ground up, working closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology leaders to shape the company's long-term AI roadmap.

Responsibilities

You will design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions across a range of business functions, including operations, maintenance, supply chain, and commercial teams. You will build scalable AI applications, develop proof-of-concepts into production-ready solutions, and contribute to the development of the company's AI platform and engineering standards.

A key focus of the role will be designing and implementing agentic AI workflows leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and orchestration frameworks to automate complex business processes and enhance decision-making. You will evaluate emerging AI technologies, integrate AI solutions into enterprise systems, and ensure models are secure, scalable, and production-ready.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer with end to end experience in Generative AI / Agentic AI, and modern AI development frameworks. Proven experience developing and deploying production-grade AI applications using Python and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is essential.

Hands-on experience building agentic AI workflows, AI agents, LLM-powered applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, prompt engineering, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar technologies will be highly desirable. Experience with MLOps, model deployment, API integration, and software engineering best practices is also preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a greenfield (0→1) environment, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be able to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Prior oil \& gas experience is not required. We welcome candidates from technology, financial services, manufacturing, logistics, consulting, or other industries with transferable AI engineering experience.
