About the job
Retailogists is looking for a Data Architect who is passionate about data and driving business impact. While we are looking for a candidate with deep software and data engineering expertise, role will entail a large Analytics and BI component as well.
What You'll Do
As a Data Architect at Retailogists, you'll play a critical role in building and scaling our data infrastructure, both for internal tools and client-facing platforms. You’ll be responsible for architect scalable data pipelines, enabling analytics, and contributing to a robust data platform that supports BI and AI workloads. Your role will also involve some level of technical leadership and oversight across multiple projects
Responsibilities Include
- Architecting data driven solutions to real e-commerce and retail business problems
- Providing technical leadership and oversight across data projects
- Modelling and transforming data for analytics use cases (data lakes, warehouses, semantic layers)
- Supporting and building BI and analytics workflows, including metric definitions and dashboarding
- Collaborating with engineers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Contributing to internal data platform components and reusable tooling
- Working directly with clients to deliver end-to-end solutions and reports
- Acting as a bridge between business and technology stakeholders by understanding and articulating the commercial value of data architecture and strategy decisions
- Work on other interesting projects with different tech stacks
What We're Looking For
- 5\+ years of professional experience in data architectire, data engineering or analytics engineering, including some technical leadership experience.
- Expertise in architecture design using tools like LucidChart
- Deep understanding of data engineering concepts: ETL, data lakes, data warehousing, orchestration
- Advanced SQL skills – capable of writing efficient, scalable queries for large datasets
- Proficiency with Spark and Pandas
- Strong interest in analytics and BI – a significant part of this role involves analytics engineering
- Deep experience with at least one BI tool (Metabase, Looker Studio, PowerBI etc.)
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Familiarity with DBT and semantic layer modelling
- Experience with the AWS data ecosystem.
Nice to have
- Retail, fashion, or wholesale experience (ERP / supply chain a plus)
- Relevant open source profile or academic/industry collaborations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science / Analytics, Computer Science or any related field
Working setup
- Remote or Hybrid (offices in Montreal and the GTA)
- Must work in Eastern Time
