Job Description

About Happy V:

Happy V is a fast-growing women’s wellness company creating science-backed products that support women through every stage of their health journey. We combine thoughtful formulations, education, and community to make women’s health easier to understand and discuss.

Who We're Looking For:

We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented Scientific Affairs Associate to help strengthen the scientific foundation behind our products, educational content, marketing claims, and product innovation pipeline.

The Scientific Affairs Associate will support scientific research, product substantiation, health education, regulatory compliance, and new product development across Happy V’s portfolio.

This person will review scientific literature, organize supporting evidence, help translate complex research into clear, consumer-friendly language, and collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Creative, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, passionate about women’s health, and able to balance scientific accuracy with clear, approachable communication.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conduct literature reviews on ingredients, formulations, women’s health conditions, wellness trends, and emerging scientific research.
  • Research and summarize clinical studies, systematic reviews, ingredient monographs, and other credible scientific sources.
  • Build and maintain substantiation files for product benefits, structure-function claims, educational content, and marketing language.
  • Review website copy, product pages, packaging, advertisements, social content, emails, influencer materials, and educational resources for scientific accuracy.
  • Help ensure product and marketing claims are properly supported and aligned with applicable supplement regulations and internal standards.
  • Translate complex scientific findings into clear, consumer-friendly education without overstating the evidence.
  • Support the development of science-backed articles, FAQs, training materials, product guides, presentations, and internal resources.
  • Partner with Product Development to research ingredients, evaluate formulation concepts, and identify evidence-based product opportunities.
  • Assist with competitive research, including ingredient comparisons, claims analysis, formulation reviews, and scientific positioning.
  • Support the preparation of scientific briefs for new product launches, campaigns, partnerships, healthcare professionals, and customer-facing teams.
  • Maintain organized databases of research, citations, ingredient documentation, product specifications, certificates, and scientific references.
  • Track new studies, regulatory developments, category trends, and emerging topics within women’s health and dietary supplements.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, healthcare professionals, laboratories, manufacturers, and research partners when needed.
  • Help respond to scientific or product-related questions from internal teams, customers, creators, affiliates, and professional partners.
  • Support adverse-event documentation, product-quality investigations, and scientific research related to customer feedback when appropriate.
  • Participate in cross-functional product development and launch meetings.
  • Ensure scientific information is accurate, consistent, properly cited, and easy for teams across the company to access.
  • Manage both internal and external practitioner marketplaces such as our own Happy V Practitioner program and external channels like FullScript.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, biology, biomedical science, public health, pharmacy, chemistry, food science, or a related scientific field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2\+ years of relevant experience in scientific affairs, medical communications, clinical or academic research, regulatory affairs, product development, or a related field.
  • Experience within dietary supplements, consumer health, wellness, food, beauty, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated industry is preferred.
  • Strong ability to search, evaluate, interpret, and summarize scientific literature from credible sources and research databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar.
  • Understanding of clinical research terminology, study design, evidence quality, and the appropriate interpretation of scientific findings.
  • Familiarity with dietary supplement labeling, claims substantiation, structure-function claims, FDA requirements, and FTC advertising principles is a plus.
  • Strong scientific writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex research into clear, accurate, and consumer-friendly language.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing claims, citations, product information, and scientific documentation.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative working style and the ability to provide clear scientific guidance to both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience using reference-management, evidence-management, or regulatory-documentation systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or a strong interest in women’s health topics, including vaginal health, urinary health, hormonal health, reproductive health, digestion, menopause, and microbiome science.
  • Genuine passion for women’s wellness, evidence-based education, and developing products that positively impact consumers’ lives.
