Job Description

Virtuox, a Resmed company \| Full-Time

Virtuox is an Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility and a Resmed company. We help patients complete diagnostic testing from home, including sleep apnea, cardiac arrhythmia, and hypoxemia testing. A physician orders a test, we ship a device directly to the patient, the patient completes the study, results are interpreted, and the report is returned to the ordering provider so they can take action. The experience may sound simple. The operational and clinical complexity behind it is not.

Virtuox operates across multiple test types, each with its own workflow, device, clinical protocol, operational dependency, and regulatory requirement. We are building the technology to make diagnostic testing faster, more automated, more observable, and more scalable.

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to help shape the core diagnostic platform that powers Virtuox operations. This role is ideal for a designer who thinks in systems, works closely with Product and Engineering, and can translate complex clinical and operational workflows into clear, scalable, user-centered experiences.

This is not a role where design happens in isolation. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, CX, Clinical, Operations, Compliance, and other stakeholders to move from ambiguous problems to shippable solutions. You will help define how complex diagnostic workflows become easier to understand, faster to complete, and more reliable at scale.

You will also work in an AI-native product development environment. That means using AI tools to accelerate exploration, synthesis, prototyping, content iteration, documentation with detailed context, and design decision-making while maintaining strong UX judgment, accessibility standards, and implementation quality.

We value designers who build trust before they build screens, think in systems rather than isolated pages, and care about measurable impact as much as polished output.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead UX from problem framing through delivery for assigned platform areas, including discovery, workflow mapping, concepting, prototyping, validation, detailed design, and iteration.
  • Translate complex operational, clinical, and technical requirements into intuitive flows, clear information architecture, and scalable interaction models.
  • Design and improve data-heavy workflows, including queues, tables, lists, search, filtering, sorting, bulk actions, status states, audit trails, empty states, error handling, and exception management.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and ship durable solutions across multiple test types and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering to understand front-end constraints, component behavior, APIs, system states, permissions, and downstream implementation implications.
  • Create clear UX artifacts, including service blueprints, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, journey maps, interaction specifications, and decision documentation.
  • Use research insights, operational data, support feedback, product analytics, and stakeholder input to inform design priorities and recommendations.
  • Identify where automation and AI can meaningfully reduce manual effort, improve workflow accuracy, or increase operational visibility
  • Facilitate workshops, design reviews, critiques, and cross-functional alignment sessions to drive clarity and momentum.
  • Incorporate accessibility into interaction design and partner with engineering to support accessible implementation.
  • Navigate regulated stakeholder environments, including clinical, compliance, privacy, security, legal, and operations partners.
  • Mentor designers through critique, pattern sharing, documentation quality, and pragmatic coaching.
  • Use AI tools responsibly in an AI-native workflow to accelerate ideation, synthesis, prototyping, content development, and design documentation.

What Success Looks Like

  • Complex diagnostic workflows become easier to understand, operate, and scale.
  • Platform experiences reduce manual effort, unnecessary touches, errors, rework, and operational ambiguity.
  • Product and Engineering teams have clear design direction, reusable patterns working in our Design System, and actionable specifications.
  • Design decisions are grounded in user needs, operational impact, technical feasibility, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experiences remain consistent across test modalities while still supporting workflow-specific requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 6\+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in enterprise, SaaS, healthcare, diagnostics, operations, or workflow-heavy software.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX work, including problem framing, systems thinking, workflow design, tradeoff decisions, stakeholder influence, and shipped outcomes.
  • Deep skill in interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and complex workflow design.
  • Experience designing data-dense interfaces such as tables, queues, dashboards, search, filtering, bulk actions, statuses, alerts, and exception flows.
  • Strong ability to simplify complexity without oversimplifying important operational, clinical, or compliance needs.
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with Product and Engineering from early problem definition through delivery.
  • Comfort working with technical teams on feasibility, component behavior, front-end constraints, system states, APIs, and implementation details.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, manage priorities independently, and drive alignment across distributed teams and time zones.
  • Practical experience designing accessible experiences and partnering with engineering to support implementation quality.
  • Proficiency with Figma (agent and MCP), and VS Code prototyping workflows, design systems, and modern collaboration tools.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate design work, synthesis, prototyping, documentation, or product thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex decisions clear for cross-functional partners.
  • Experience supporting design systems or migrating products between component libraries.

Nice-to-have experience:

  • Healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, revenue cycle, insurance, logistics, or regulated software environments.
  • Designing platforms that support clinical, operational, or administrative workflows.
  • Order-to-result, fulfillment, billing, denial management, routing, or exception-management workflows.
  • Designing enterprise search, navigation, permissions, audit trails, or workflow observability patterns.
  • Familiarity with experimentation, product metrics, operational metrics, and iterative delivery practices.
  • AI-assisted tools for research synthesis, UX writing, prototyping, or design documentation.
  • Working with teams in a GitHub environment (pull requests, documentation, agents).
