As a

Key Account Manager

at Mexilink, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and expanding our relationships with strategic clients. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key accounts and driving business growth through exceptional client engagement, sales initiatives, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of the CPG industry and a proven track record of successfully managing key client partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Compiling lists of prospective customers from various sources such as newspapers, business directories, trade shows, and online platforms to generate sales leads.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong, enduring relationships with key clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all business-related matters.
  • Collaborating with clients to deeply understand their business needs, objectives, and challenges, and proactively identifying opportunities for mutual growth and increased market share.
  • Capturing new business opportunities (accounts) and identifying white space to expand our market presence and drive revenue growth.
  • Developing and implementing strategic account plans aligned with the company's objectives to ensure sustained business growth and market penetration.
  • Exceeding KPIs and sales targets by effectively presenting our product offerings, negotiating contracts, and securing agreements with key accounts.
  • Generating comprehensive reports to track sales performance and progress towards goals.
  • Traveling within assigned territories to engage with both existing and prospective customers.
  • Demonstrating deep knowledge of our product offerings and articulating their value proposition to clients.
  • Showcasing our products, using samples or catalogs, and highlighting key features to drive sales.
  • Quoting prices, establishing credit terms, and preparing sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimating delivery dates to customers based on our production and delivery schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate records of business transactions and managing expense accounts.
  • Tracking and analyzing key account performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven strategies to enhance client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Collaborating with sales representatives to ensure account activities and literature are up to date, while also monitoring stock levels.
  • Coordinating customer training sessions as needed.
  • Entering new customer data and updating sales information in our computer database.
  • Developing and nurturing relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigating and resolving customer problems in a timely and effective manner.
  • Actively participating in trade shows to promote our products and identify new business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • 5 years of sales experience.
  • English language fluency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact with external and internal clients professionally.
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; threats others with respect and consideration.
  • Strong attention to detail and bringing tasks to completion.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Have a positive attitude, must contribute to a positive workplace.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Willing to travel 20% of the time.
