About the role

The Adjunct Faculty member delivers high-quality online instruction, fosters an engaging virtual learning environment, and supports student success in assigned courses. Responsibilities include synchronous and asynchronous teaching, timely feedback, academic advisement, guidance on research methodology, and active participation in program meetings and professional development. The role requires mastery of the subject area, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and the institution’s Learning Management System (LMS), and a commitment to continual scholarly growth.

What you'll do

  • Plan and facilitate scheduled synchronous sessions that cover core content and promote interactive learning•
  • Provide clear and timely feedback on assignments, quizzes, and projects.
  • Respond to questions via Microsoft Teams and LMS messaging within institutional turnaround standards (typically 48 hours).
  • Mentor students on crafting research questions, literature reviews, and scientific writing to support papers, capstone projects. and dissertations as applies.
  • Initiate and sustain substantive dialogue, encourage critical thinking, and assess participation quality.
  • Integrate supplemental resources (articles, case studies, multimedia) to deepen learning outcomes.
  • Grade assignments, quizzes, and papers in compliance with the dates established in the Academic Calendar. This includes any grade grievance and remotion of an incomplete.
  • Monitor progress through the LMS reports and monitor at-risk students, escalating concerns to the Program Coordinator when necessary.
  • Attend scheduled training, curriculum reviews, and faculty meetings to align with program goals and regulatory standards.
  • Attend professional development activities such as faculty meetings, workshops, and mentoring activities. The faculty must comply with a minimum of 8 hours of professional development per academic year.
  • Comply with all MUST academic norms, policies, and procedures stated in the Institutional Catalog and Manuals as applied.
  • Other tasks inherent to this role and designated projects by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degrees: Master’s degree in the relevant or related field (Doctorate Preferred)
  • Graduate Degrees: Terminal Degree- Doctorate (PhD, EdD, DBA, or equivalent) in the relevant or related field; strong record of scholarly publications. Exceptions must be well documented and approved by Academic Leadership and HR.
  • Minimum two (2) years of college-level teaching; demonstrated success in online or hybrid modalities.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); and Spanish or Portuguese as applicable.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) and Microsoft Teams. Familiarity with Business Analytics or comparable tools.
  • Strong instructional design principles for adult learners.
  • Ability to provide effective, empathetic feedback.
  • Commitment to academic integrity and inclusive teaching practice.
