Senior Actuarial Analyst - Pension Member Services - Calculation Tool Improvement
Location: London or Reigate – hybrid 50%
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours
Purpose of role
The purpose of this role is to complete and review member options calculations requiring actuarial input, support actuarial testing of member options tools, and contribute to the growth of the DB area and improvements to member experience. The role will work collaboratively to develop and test bespoke automated member options solutions and provide additional actuarial calculations, including new business and true-up activities, to support the wider growth agenda.

Key responsibilities
- Provide actuarial calculation support for standard and non-standard member option cases.
- Analyse, upload and test scheme benefit data to ensure member options tools run accurately and efficiently.
- Support ongoing maintenance, monthly updates, troubleshooting and enhancement of member options tools.
- Prepare and review internal sign-off documentation in line with agreed governance processes.
- Deliver BAU actuarial work for in-force business, including scheme valuations where required.
- Build and maintain strong working knowledge of all systems and tools used by the Actuarial Member Services team.
- Drive projects to agreed timelines while supporting the development of junior team members through training and knowledge sharing.
What we’re looking for
- Good knowledge and awareness of the DB buy in/buy out market, life insurance and relevant regulation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT capability, particularly in Excel.
- Sound understanding of actuarial concepts, especially bulk annuity pricing principles.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication, able to explain complex financial concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
