Job Overview
We are seeking an
experienced Laboratory Technician – Level 1
to join our
Quality Control team
. This role is responsible for performing
dimensional, mechanical, physical, and chemical laboratory testing
using established test equipment, specifications, methods, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on lab or manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in
quality control laboratory testing, ASTM test methods, manufacturing environments, or materials testing
who are looking to grow their career in a structured, team-oriented lab setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform
dimensional, mechanical, physical, and chemical testing
in accordance with company procedures, ASTM standards, and other applicable industry specifications
- Accurately
record, analyze, and maintain laboratory test data
, reports, and documentation to support quality and compliance requirements
- Support
product acceptance and quality verification activities
by ensuring test results meet established specifications
- Identify, document, and communicate
nonconforming materials
; assist with material review, corrective actions, and preventive actions
- Participate in
internal audits, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
to enhance laboratory and process performance
- Maintain a
clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
while following all safety procedures
- Support
cross-training, teamwork, and additional lab operations
as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
; Associate’s degree or chemistry-related coursework is a plus
- 1\+ year of experience
in a laboratory, manufacturing, quality control, or related environment
- Basic experience using
inspection and measurement tools
such as calipers and micrometers
- Familiarity with
mechanical or chemical testing methods
- Ability to
read, interpret, and follow work instructions, technical specifications, and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with
Excel and Microsoft Office
for data entry and reporting
- Basic
math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with
quality systems or ERP systems
is a plus
Preferred Skills \& Experience
- Experience with
ASTM test methods
, composites, or textile materials
- Exposure to
atomic absorption testing
or
carbon content determination
- Background in
materials testing, quality assurance, or laboratory operations
