About The Role

The Software Engineer - Unity at Lingraphica plays a vital role in developing and maintaining software that powers speech-generating devices and related applications. This remote position involves working within a cross-functional Innovation team, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver user-centered solutions that significantly improve communication capabilities for users. The role encompasses the full software development lifecycle, from designing and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing support. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Unity and C#, and possess a passion for creating accessible, high-quality software that directly impacts users' lives. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3\+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency with Unity and C#
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs (Node.js or similar)
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitHub
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
• Ability and willingness to travel within the U.S. up to 2 times per year for team and company meetings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Vercel
• Experience with React Native for mobile application development
• Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI APIs
• Knowledge of Python, PostgreSQL, Firebase, or similar technologies
• Experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices
• Exposure to machine learning concepts or development
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL database design

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for speech-generating devices and applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, user-centered solutions
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting across the technology stack
• Contribute to automated and manual testing efforts to ensure high product quality
• Support production systems through bug fixes, performance tuning, and system enhancements
• Engage in Agile team ceremonies, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Enhance internal tools, infrastructure, and engineering processes, including CI/CD pipelines and documentation
