About the Company and Role
We are an established educational consulting organization that advises students and families pursuing admission to highly selective colleges and universities in the United States and internationally. Our work emphasizes individualized guidance, ethical advising, and informed judgment grounded in firsthand admissions experience.
We are seeking a full-time Undergraduate College Admissions Counselor to work with high school students (grades 8–12) across the college preparation and application process. This role is suited for experienced admissions professionals who bring strong evaluative judgment and can operate with a high degree of autonomy in a remote, professional environment. Counselors manage an ongoing caseload and contribute to the quality and consistency of advising delivered across the organization. The role balances direct student work with broader corporate responsibilities typical of a senior individual contributor.
Responsibilities
- Advise students and families on academic planning, college selection, and application strategy
- Apply admissions expertise to help students position themselves competitively for selective institutions
- Manage student relationships with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
- Collaborate as needed with colleagues to support consistent advising standards
- Maintain appropriate documentation and administrative requirements associated with client work
- Stay informed on developments and trends in college admissions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 3\+ years of direct experience in the undergraduate admissions office of a highly selective U.S. college or university, including responsibility for evaluating applications. Specifically, in these schools: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, Brown, MIT, UPenn, CalTech, Cornell, Dartmouth, Columbia
- Experience advising high school students through the college admissions process
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Discretion, integrity, and sound professional judgment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a selective high school or private college counseling setting, undergraduate or graduate education at a highly selective U.S. institution, experience reviewing STEM or arts-based applicants, experience working with international students and families, and multilingual capabilities (Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Mandarin)
Work Expectations
This is a full-time, remote position. We require flexibility to work evenings and weekends especially during peak admissions periods to accommodate client availability.
