Senior Software Developer

GroundControl is a technology company building for contract manufacturers and the supply chains they are a part of. Our mission is to deliver advanced software solutions that enable manufacturers to produce high-quality parts and systems with precision and confidence. These parts power the most advanced aerospace and defense systems in North America today, from rockets and commercial airliners, to advanced next-gen fighter jets. GroundControl is a seed stage YCombinator company, with investors including 8VC, hyper-strategic family office, and notable angel investors.

Our software streamlines First Article Inspection (FAI) generation, submission, and analysis. It ensures compliance with AS9102 standards, and reduces the risk of errors and delays. By integrating powerful data processing capabilities with an intuitive user interface, we help manufacturers optimize their quality management processes.

This position is intended to be on-site working with local and remote counter parts.

What you’ll do

As the early hire at GroundControl, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product and engineering culture for the future of the company. You will work directly with the founding team across engineering, product, and customer success. You will:

• Own the software solutions that are deployed to customers
• Contribute to our Next.js Application, ML and Python severless functions to improve reliability and progress the product roadmap
• Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps
• Interface directly with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints

Who You Are

CORE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong software engineering background (5\+ years) from industry
• At least 5 years working with Javascript/Typescript, React in production systems
• Experience building scalable and responsive web-based user interfaces
• Experience with AI native development
• Ability to empathize with end-users, to turn needs into features, and to balance user experience with engineering constraints to deliver full solutions
• Candidates must be US persons per ITAR 22 CFR §120\.62 or a Canadian person per CGP

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working with Python and/or Golang
• Experience working with LLMs
• Experience working with AWS, in particular GovCloud
• Deep relational database knowledge (Postgres specifically)
