The Role

We are seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator who treats database management like a high-performance engineering discipline. This isn’t a traditional "maintenance" role; you will be the hands-on expert responsible for the engineering, automation, and reliability of a global SQL Server platform across both on-premises and Azure environments.

The mission is clear: move beyond manual operations to build self-healing platforms and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) environments that allow our engineering teams to consume database services at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Automation-First Engineering:

Design and implement "DBA as a service" capabilities, ensuring manual tasks are eliminated through PowerShell, T-SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

Use

Terraform

, ARM, or Bicep to deploy and manage highly available SQL environments.

• Cloud \& Hybrid Operations:

Manage and optimize SQL Server on Azure IaaS and Azure SQL Managed Instances, supporting critical migrations from on-prem to the cloud.

• Performance \& Reliability:

Lead advanced troubleshooting, query optimization, and partitioning strategies to ensure stability for mission-critical applications.

• High Availability:

Design and operate resilient architectures, including Always On Availability Groups and Failover Cluster Instances.

What You Bring

• Deep SQL Expertise:

Extensive experience as a Senior DBA with a focus on SQL Server internals, performance tuning, and high-availability solutions.

• Automation Mindset:

Expert-level PowerShell skills are essential. You should have a proven track record of automating builds, patching, and DR testing.

• Modern DevOps Skills:

Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions) and using Terraform for infrastructure deployment.

• Azure Proficiency:

Hands-on experience with Azure SQL DB and Managed Instance is highly preferred.

• Attributes:
