Job Description

Overview

We are supporting an innovative biotechnology company that is seeking a Computational Biologist to support data analysis across pre‑clinical and clinical development programmes. This is a newly created position and will play a key role in analysing scientific datasets and generating insights to support decision‑making across the organisation.

The role will suit an analytically minded scientist who is comfortable working with diverse datasets, applying statistical approaches, and operating effectively in a small, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret a range of pre‑clinical and clinical datasets, including PK, biomarker and epidemiological data
  • Work with exported datasets, primarily in Excel, to clean, structure and analyse data
  • Apply appropriate statistical methods to support data interpretation
  • Summarise and compare study outputs, providing clear and concise top‑line insights
  • Conduct literature reviews to contextualise findings and support scientific conclusions
  • Collaborate closely with senior scientific leadership and contribute to programme discussions

Essential Requirements

  • MSc (or higher) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. biology, pharmacology, bioinformatics, computational biology or similar) with at least 3 years of industry experience
  • Strong data analysis skills, including confidence working with Excel‑based datasets
  • Solid understanding of basic statistical concepts (e.g. t‑tests, ANOVA)
  • Ability to independently assess unfamiliar datasets and determine appropriate analytical approaches
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate insights clearly

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to PK data, non‑compartmental analysis or population PK
  • Background combining laboratory science with data or computational analysis
  • Familiarity with a variety of biological and clinical data types
