Senior Mechanical Engineer (10\+ Years)

. Candidates must be a United States Citizen or Green Card Holder. Candidates must be able to work a hybrid work schedule out of our client's Atlanta, GA office. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule. Candidates must have an active Professional Engineer (PE) License as well as prior proven experience with Business Development (BD/BDM).

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for our client’s Duluth, GA office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our client’s business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications:

Perform

the following functions:

  • Design of HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Manage and design multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Lead design team efforts.
  • Manage project team for budget and schedule control.
  • Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.
  • Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
  • Conduct marketing/business development activities.
  • Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
  • Ability to travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degress (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (required).
  • 10 to 15 years of experience.
  • Experience with Load Calculation Software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications.
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
  • Experience with energy modeling is a plus.
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus.
