Role Overview
As a Contracts Manager II within the Global Energy and Sustainability Team (GET), you will help organize and track data related to our renewable energy and sustainability contracts. This role is a key contributor to helping the Client achieve its ambitious 2030 carbon neutrality goals. You will bridge the gap between complex legal contracts and technical data sets to ensure portfolio compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management:
Maintain and audit documentation for a global portfolio of renewable energy assets.
- Performance Monitoring:
Track power plant performance, including outages and availability, against contractual obligations.
- Compliance Tracking:
Monitor Client and counterparty compliance with key milestones and document progress in internal contract management systems.
- Financial Validation:
Review and validate purchase orders, invoicing, payments, and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) receipt/retirement.
- Contract Administration:
Perform contract abstraction, maintain collateral, monitor energy contract mailboxes, and set up counterparties as vendors.
- Sustainability Reporting:
Support data tracking related to energy usage and renewable energy production.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
BA/BS degree in a relevant field.
- Experience:
2\+ years of experience in contract management, paralegal work, lease accounting, or project administration.
- Energy Expertise:
At least 1 year of experience specifically with electric power purchase agreements (PPAs) or energy asset management.
- Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to synthesize and organize large datasets is required (an Excel test is part of the interview).
- Communication:
Excellent spoken and written skills with the ability to collaborate in an unstructured, fast-paced environment.
- Attributes:
Focused, self-motivated, and demonstrated strong attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience extracting and understanding complex information from energy contracts.
- Prior work experience with an electric utility, energy supplier, or project developer.
- Familiarity with energy data, such as electricity pricing or interval meter data.
- Understanding of relational database principles and data structures.
