Transportation Operations and Planning Manager

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Operations and Planning Manager to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain and transportation operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, data-driven professional with a proven track record of driving cost savings, building high-performing teams, and scaling logistics infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead transportation and logistics operations across domestic and international markets, overseeing multi-million dollar budgets
• Develop and execute procurement strategies, including supplier negotiations, contract management, and vendor onboarding
• Design and manage network optimization initiatives to reduce cost and improve delivery performance
• Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional logistics teams, fostering a high-performance culture
• Establish and monitor KPIs to measure operational efficiency, vendor compliance, service quality, and compliance.
• Partner with product, engineering, finance, and operations teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives
• Drive process improvement initiatives, including the development of SOPs and training programs
• Manage TMS, WMS, and other logistics technology platforms, leading integration and testing efforts as needed
• Oversee compliance with DOT, OSHA, HOS, and other applicable regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• 8\+ years of progressive logistics and supply chain experience
• Demonstrated experience managing large teams (30\+ employees)
• Proven track record of cost reduction and operational improvement
• Experience with multi-region or global vendor management
• Proficiency with TMS, WMS, and YMS platforms
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with change management and cross-functional leadership

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in e-commerce, final mile, or freight brokerage environments
• Background in both US and international logistics markets (e.g., US/Canada cross-border)
• Familiarity with demand forecasting and network design methodologies
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
