Job Description
Overview
Our client is seeking a Specialty Engineer I to join their Engineering team. This role focuses on developing infrastructure designs to support the construction of a wide range of telecommunications facilities, including civil site development, in-building systems, power infrastructure, network connectivity, and small data center solutions.
This position offers the opportunity to work on scalable, high-impact projects involving access roads, buildings, fiber and copper infrastructure, electrical systems, and backup power solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own engineering-related tasks for network infrastructure design, including code compliance, architectural design, and civil, structural, and/or mechanical engineering components
- Support internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical requirements and enable successful implementation
- Develop and implement specialty engineering designs (e.g., grading, drainage, structural, electrical, mechanical, fiber/power systems)
- Perform engineering analyses and code research (e.g., structural, stormwater, heat load, and related calculations)
- Create design drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or iBwave
- Review and manage low- to moderately complex projects, including documentation and requirements
- Conduct site visits, gather site-specific data, and assist with design strategies
- Prepare construction drawings in compliance with building codes and engineering standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
- Coordinate with survey vendors and provide clear scopes of work
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (required)
- 1\+ year of experience with Revit (preferred)
- Experience in telecommunications, tower design, construction, or engineering (preferred, based on degree type)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; ability to learn Civil 3D, Revit, or iBwave
- Coursework or experience in civil/stormwater analysis, structural/mechanical systems, or power design
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license (preferred)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to collaborate across teams and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
