We are currently looking for an experienced

Quality Assurance Manager

to support our engineering team.

Location:

Germany – Rastatt / Sweden – Gothenburg / Poland - Gdańsk

The QA Manager – Passenger Information Systems (PIS) leads the end-to-end quality

strategy for Luminator’s real-time passenger information products, covering cloud

services, backend APIs, management software, embedded controllers, operating

systems, and hardware displays/signage. You will own quality processes across multiple

hardware platforms, vendors, and real-world transit environments, ensuring consistent,

reliable, customer-ready releases.

What you will do:

Leadership \& Team Management

• Lead and develop a hybrid QA team across cloud, embedded, device, and hardware display domains.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Create skill matrices, training plans, and hiring strategies to support product growth.

Quality Strategy \& Execution

• Own QA strategy for cloud platforms, backend microservices, embedded software, OS layers, and passenger information displays.
• Define quality standards, test methodologies, and quality gates across engineering.
• Ensure predictable, high‑quality releases through clear criteria, risk analysis, and readiness checks.

Automation \& Tooling

• Build and scale automation frameworks for API, UI, embedded, and system‑level testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Champion automation‑first practices to reduce regression time and expand coverage.

End‑to‑End System Validation

• Oversee E2E validation across management software, data feeds, embedded systems, and displays.
• Ensure compatibility across hardware SKUs, partner devices, and third‑party components.
• Establish strong regression, integration, and configuration‑matrix testing.
• Drive customer‑scenario testing reflecting real transit operations.
• Lead cross‑functional root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success on acceptance criteria, validation strategies, and quality KPIs.
• Collaborate across hardware, embedded, and software teams on defect triage and solution verification.

Continuous Improvement \& Reporting

• Track KPIs such as defect density, automation coverage, field issue recurrence, and regression cycle time.
• Provide visibility into quality trends, defect metrics, and release readiness.
• Drive improvements in QA methodology, tooling, and documentation.
• Maintain clear test documentation, defect reports, and QA artifacts.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive QA experience across software, embedded systems, or hardware.
• Experience leading QA teams

Strong experience with:

• System-level and integration testing for multi-tier systems (cloud, backend,
• embedded, hardware).
• Network protocols relevant to transit/PIS environments (TCP/IP, UDP,
• HTTPS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Automation frameworks and scripting (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
• Linux-based embedded environments and hardware-software
• interoperability.
• CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).

Nice to have:

• Experience with passenger information systems, or similar connected IoT

products.

• Experience working with GPS, GTFS, or other real-time transit data feeds.
• Experience using AI based automation tools to accelerate automation coverage
• Experience building regression test platforms covering a large number of

hardware SKUs
