We are partnering with a

This opportunity sits within a

highly regarded forensic engineering practice

, where senior engineers are trusted to lead investigations, develop defensible technical opinions, and contribute to matters that extend well beyond traditional design roles.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the forensic practice, you will play a key role in investigating failures, damages, and performance issues across a wide range of building systems and facilities. You will work directly with attorneys, building owners, insurers, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing clear, evidence-based engineering conclusions grounded in sound scientific principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct forensic investigations involving mechanical systems within the built environment and industrial facilities
  • Perform field investigations, condition assessments, root cause analysis, and damage evaluations
  • Analyze building codes, standards, construction practices, and professional standards of care
  • Manage forensic projects from initial intake through final deliverables
  • Prepare clear, well-supported technical reports expressing engineering opinions and conclusions
  • Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams on complex assignments
  • Support business development activities, including industry events and client engagement
  • Serve as an expert witness in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trials, with firm support and guidance as needed

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6\+ years of experience in mechanical design, investigation, or forensic engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in at least one jurisdiction, with ability to obtain additional licensure
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate engineering opinions
  • Experience managing projects and mentoring or supporting junior engineers
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across disciplines
  • Willingness to travel for short durations as required for project work

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Work on

high-impact forensic investigations

rather than routine design projects

  • Exposure to

litigation support and expert witness work

  • Strong technical reputation and brand recognition within the industry
  • Supportive, collaborative culture that values curiosity and engineering excellence
  • Long-term career growth within a well-established forensic practice
