Job Description:

We are growing the Avionics Engineering team to support development of the X-BAT aircraft. Our team is designing a flight critical, custom avionics system to support communications, compute, AI, power, telemetry, and all other needed aircraft systems.

An Avionics Specialist/Sr. Technician - High Voltage supports the entire Avionics team and other cross-functional teams. It is an essential role spanning design, verification, procurement, manufacturing, and test. You will work specifically with the Power Systems team as they design and verify all X-BAT high voltage power systems. This includes the generator, battery, and all power converters.

What you'll do:

  • Set up and execute test campaigns for custom circuits and sub-systems such as verifying logic levels, voltage rails, and basic circuit functions
  • Perform benchtop PCBA testing and debugging
  • Support engineers through environmental qualification that includes temperature, vibration, altitude, humidity, etc.
  • Design, verify, and deploy simple PCBAs, fixtures, and harnesses
  • Assist with the avionics lab design and buildout
  • Required qualifications

  • 2+ years working around high voltage, high power systems. Such as 270V and higher
  • Experience performing benchtop testing with basic EE equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, electronic load, thermal chamber, etc.)
  • Experience performing PCBA and harness rework
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting schematics
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, which can be from an internship, job, club, team, personal project, etc…
  • Demonstrated history of showing ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results
  • Record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
