Woodshop Worker (1st Shift)

Job Summary

The Cabinet Carpenter is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing custom and production cabinetry in a wood shop environment. This role requires strong woodworking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work from drawings and specifications to produce high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct custom and semi-custom cabinets, casework, and related millwork components
• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and cut lists
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and sand wood and wood-based materials
• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools, including table saws, planers, routers, sanders, and CNC equipment (if applicable)
• Apply finishes such as stains, sealers, and lacquers as required
• Assemble cabinet boxes, doors, drawer boxes, and hardware
• Maintain quality standards, ensuring accuracy, durability, and appearance of finished products
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with shop supervisors, designers, and other carpenters to meet production schedules
• Assist with material handling, inventory, and shop maintenance as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred
• Proven experience in cabinet making or woodworking
• Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery methods
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with woodworking tools and equipment
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
