San Bernardino County is recruiting for Staff Analyst Trainees who perform a variety of administrative, operational, research, and analytical duties in support of departmental activities. Based on the assignment, positions coordinate special projects and studies; research legislation to determine effects on the organization; and advise management on policies and procedures related to personnel, systems, facilities planning, qualitative management, and related operational functions to meet programmatic goals. The resulting eligible list will be used to fill vacancies throughout the County as they occur.

The eligible list established by this recruitment will be used to fill vacancies throughout the County as well as in the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District and Special Districts Department. Applicants will be asked to indicate their availability and preference for referral to the different agencies in the Supplemental Questionnaire.
The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District and Special Districts Department are separate entities from San Bernardino County, and as such, compensation and benefits for their positions are set forth in a different compensation plan. For additional details, please refer to the Non-Represented Employee Compensation Plan and Fire Auxiliary Services Units .
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass the pre-employment process, which includes fingerprinting, prior to appointment; candidates selected for law enforcement departments, public safety positions, or positions where legally required, must pass a more stringent background check.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
PROMOTION: Trainees must demonstrate successful work performance to qualify for promotion to Staff Analyst I ($30\.57 - $42\.01 Hourly) within twelve (12) months or be terminated.
Minimum Requirements

REQUIRED (Must meet one (1) of the following options):
OPTION 1
Education: A completed/awarded Bachelor's degree in public/business administration, behavioral/social science, accounting/finance or other relevant field of study.
OPTION 2Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience supporting professional staff in areas of administrative services, analytical studies, organizational operations, staffing or personnel organization, fiscal/budget, data analysis, statistical analysis, accounting, economics or a closely related field. Education: A completed/awarded Associate degree in public/business administration, behavioral/social science, accounting/finance or other relevant field of study. IMPORTANT NOTES:
EDUCATION
Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and possess experience performing complex administrative analysis duties in a public sector environment.

Examination Procedure:
