Job Description
A mission-driven California-based organization is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to build and lead a centralized procurement and contract management function across a large, multi-site operation. As the organization's lead and only procurement professional, you will:
- Design and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy and centralized purchasing function.
- Lead sourcing initiatives, supplier evaluations, RFP processes, and vendor negotiations.
- Develop procurement policies, procedures, and contract management standards.
- Partner closely with executive leadership, finance, operations, legal, and technology teams.
- Manage vendor contracts throughout their lifecycle, including renewals, compliance, and performance monitoring.
- Deliver spend analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness.
- Establish best practices for procurement technology, asset management, and purchasing workflows.
- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on procurement and contract administration.
What We're Looking For:
- 7\+ years of progressive procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or contract administration experience.
- Proven success building or transforming procurement processes and systems.
- Strong background in RFP development, supplier management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations.
- Experience working with ERP, procurement, and contract management platforms.
- Exceptional analytical, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPM, CPPB, CPPO, CPSM, or similar credentials are highly valued.
