Job Description
Working with a global leader in thermoforming packaging and automation technology, that's looking to add a Controls Engineer to their team. They are fully dedicated to designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems for custom thermoforming and automation equipment, supporting blue-chip customers across food, medical, electronics, horticulture, and automotive packaging.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement after an initial 3-month onsite training period, hands-on ownership of electrical/controls design from concept through field commissioning, and the opportunity to work alongside a distributed team of engineers collaborating across global sites.
What you'll do:
- Design electrical panel layouts, schematics, and CAD drawings to meet industry and regulatory standards
- Develop machine logic in PLC, operator interfaces, and servo motion controls
- Prepare bills of material, manage ECO drawing changes, and document design decisions
- Participate in design reviews and represent the design team on assigned projects
- Handle machine start-up and debugging pre-shipment, plus field support for start-up and troubleshooting
What you bring:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, or 1\+ year of manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and motion control programming
- Solid grasp of electrical engineering design practices
- Strong technical communication skills, written and verbal
- Must be able to work in the U.S. permanently — no visa sponsorship available
