Job Description
About Genesis Brain Institute
Genesis Brain Institute (GBI) is a multidisciplinary brain treatment center in Tampa, Florida, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI), PTSD, ADHD, dementia, and other neurological and psychiatric conditions.
Our approach combines advanced brain diagnostics with innovative treatments, including neuropsychological evaluations, qEEG brain mapping, vestibular testing, EyeBOX concussion assessment, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, neurofeedback, photobiomodulation, vestibular rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and medication management.
At GBI, objective brain data guides every treatment decision. We care for patients with complex neurological and psychiatric conditions and provide an integrated approach that bridges neurology and mental health.
The Role
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to work under the direct supervision of our on-site physician. You will serve as the primary patient-facing clinician, conducting evaluations, explaining diagnostic findings, managing medications, and guiding patients throughout their treatment.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations under physician supervision.
- Review and explain diagnostic findings, including qEEG brain mapping, neuropsychological testing, vestibular testing, and neuroimaging.
- Develop and manage treatment plans with the supervising physician and neuropsychologist.
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications under physician supervision.
- Provide brief supportive counseling and psychoeducation during follow-up visits.
- Monitor patient progress throughout treatment.
- Collaborate closely with the physician, neuropsychologist, and clinical team.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation.
Qualifications
- Active Florida PA license and NCCPA certification.
- At least one year of experience in psychiatry, neurology, neuropsychiatry, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Experience with TBI, PTSD, concussion, dementia, ADHD, or neurorehabilitation is preferred but not required.
Why Join GBI?
This is not a high-volume medication management practice. You'll build lasting relationships with patients, help them understand their diagnoses, manage their treatment, and watch their progress over time while working alongside an experienced physician and neuropsychologist in an innovative brain treatment center.
