Frontend Engineer

Clientmind Recruiting is searching for a Frontend Engineer for a client based in the Bethesda area. This is onsite 2x per week.

This role emphasizes modern frontend development with a focus on interaction design, performance optimization, and creating pixel-perfect implementations that feel fast and responsive. While React is their primary framework, they value engineers with diverse framework experience. You'll collaborate across teams to evolve their consumer-facing products while maintaining a high bar for quality and user experience.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain consumer-facing web applications with exceptional UX
• Design and implement delightful micro-interactions and animations
• Create responsive, accessible interfaces that work beautifully across devices
• Integrate with GraphQL APIs to deliver seamless data experiences
• Collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to ship polished features
• Optimize application performance for speed and responsiveness

What We're Looking For

• 5\+ years of frontend engineering experience shipping

consumer products

• Strong skills in modern frontend frameworks (React preferred) with deep understanding of reactivity, state management, and component architecture
• Experience optimizing performance across different rendering contexts (CSR, SSR, SSG)
• Expertise in CSS, animations, and creating polished visual experiences
• Experience building performant, accessible web applications
• Passion for user experience and attention to detail in implementation
• Comfortable collaborating with designers to translate vision into delightful reality

Bonus Points

• Experience with advanced animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP, or similar)
• Experience with other modern frontend frameworks (Vue, SolidJS, or similar)
• Experience implementing design systems and component libraries
• Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, or other API integration patterns
• Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven product iteration
• Experience building mobile applications (iOS/Android) using native or web technologies (React Native, Swift, Kotlin, PWAs)
