Full Job Description
The Superintendent supports the day-to-day functions of the project team to ensure essential processes are progressing in alignment with overall project objectives. They provide a broad range of functions across the field and administratively.
Essential Functions
- Collecting information for daily logs, safety and incident reports, schedule updates, and other required field documentation.
- Perform project start-up duties such as trailer set-up, temporary utilities, and systems set-up.
- Advises of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. Assists in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
- Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project procedures, safety requirements, and quality controls are maintained.
- Perform regular quality control inspections. Notifying Subcontractors of non-conformances and track resolution.
- Facilitation of various trade contractor meetings including preconstruction meetings, weekly trade contractor meetings, daily huddles, safety updates, etc. Prepare meeting minutes.
- Provide development of weekly work plans and tracking compliance with these plans.
- Facilitate final inspection, punch list, and local approval processes to achieve project objectives related to occupancy, turn-over, and move-in.
- Walk projects daily to monitor activities and communicate status. Adjusting project plan to ensure project objectives are met.
- Load or unload construction materials.
- Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as traffic control or barricades.
- Follow instructions from supervisors.
- Occasional sweeping and site clean up.

Experience
- 5-10 years experience in the construction industry as a superintendent, assistant superintendent or project engineer.
- Ability to read project drawings and specifications required.
- Computer skills – Must be proficient with MS Office, MS Project and Procore.
