Job Description
Company Description
Cellsonics Inc. is committed to advancing human health by equipping scientists with innovative tools that leverage cutting-edge technology. Our flagship product, SimpleFlow, utilizes non-destructive acoustic waveforms to gently dissociate cells from tissue, ensuring unbiased and representative cell populations. This approach offers higher biological relevance, allowing researchers to explore and uncover new biological insights. Through our innovative solutions, we aim to support groundbreaking discoveries in life sciences and healthcare.
Role Description
Cellsonics is hiring a Founder Scientist to own the scientific and technical program. This is not an advisory role - we need a leader in the driver's seat with full accountability for the experimental program and its outcomes.
The Founder Scientist will design and run the optimization program, own translation of results into validated customer-facing protocols, and hold full technical authority within the company's commercial constraints. You will work closely with Founder Customers - world-class researchers who serve as scientific collaborators and outcome referees.
Bay area and full-time is preferred but Cellsonics is willing to shape the role for the right candidate.
What we are looking for:
- Technical expertise in cell biology, tissue dissociation methods, acoustic cell biophysics or tissue properties related to dissociation (e.g., cell-ECM interactions, integrins, mechanoreceptors, cell-cell signaling)
- Scientific leadership paired with an enthusiasm for getting your hands dirty at the bench to advance dissociation protocols
- Strong collaborative skills with scientist customers to validate results
- Track record of creating robust and focused design of experiments and conducting rigorous experimental protocols with strong data analysis skills
- Excitement for building from the ground up and strong ownership
