A nationally-respected engineering and design consultancy is seeking a

Senior Mechanical Project Manager

to lead complex building systems projects and guide multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle.

This is a technical leadership role suited to an experienced engineer who thrives in both technical design and client-facing project management. The successful candidate will oversee the design and delivery of advanced HVAC and building systems across a wide range of project types, while mentoring staff and shaping project strategy from concept through construction.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to lead high-impact projects that prioritize performance, sustainability, and long-term operational efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative building solutions across sectors such as healthcare, aviation, commercial, and residential.

The position also plays a key role internally, contributing to company standards, mentoring engineers, and helping improve technical operations and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Project \& Technical Leadership

  • Lead complex HVAC and building systems design as a

Lead Engineer and/or Engineer of Record (EOR)

  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams from concept through construction delivery
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Enforce project quality management plans and ensure high technical standards
  • Serve as a senior technical resource across projects and teams
  • Utilize tools such as

Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office

for project delivery and coordination

Client \& Business Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Present technical concepts and design options to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Participate in project interviews and proposal efforts
  • Represent the firm at industry events and client meetings
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the organization

Team Development \& Leadership

  • Mentor and train engineering staff, supporting professional development
  • Inspire and motivate teams while fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Support improvements to company standards, workflows, and engineering processes
  • Help guide the technical direction and operational efficiency of the firm

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in

Mechanical Engineering

  • 15\+ years of industry experience

in building systems engineering

  • Professional engineering credential
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects
  • Strong project management capabilities including budgeting, reporting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Compensation \& Benefits

  • Base Salary:

$120,000 – $180,000
