About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, CONTROL PLANE role focuses on designing and building backend services and cloud infrastructure that unify the control planes of two major deployment models: self-managed and fully managed platforms. This position plays a key role in creating a single, scalable platform that supports diverse operating environments, impacting both SaaS and on-premise deployments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain control plane services for multiple platforms.
- Deliver unified features such as access control and multi-cluster management for both SaaS and self-managed deployments.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance efficiency of services.
- Build infrastructure compatible with global cloud providers and on-premise setups.
- Review peers' code and design proposals in a timely and constructive manner.
- Improve engineering processes, testing, and systems for team productivity.
- Collaborate with global teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively in writing across distributed teams.
- Provide high-quality customer support internally and externally.
- Occasionally assist with frontend development related to the Portal UI.
Requirements:
- Experience in developing distributed systems.
- Extensive Java software development experience.
- Cloud infrastructure architecture and orchestration skills with major cloud providers.
- Experience building and operating backend services, including APIs and lifecycle management.
- Practical use of AI coding tools in daily engineering work.
- Strong software engineering and design best practices.
- Commitment to creating maintainable and high-quality software.
- Self-motivated with a focus on craftsmanship.
- Ability to work autonomously with ownership.
- Curiosity and ability to integrate efforts across teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, grit, and bias for action.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- Pay range for this role is $185,000 to $215,000 USD.
- Compensation includes equity packages and comprehensive benefits.
